A Look Back at the Second Session of the Workshop “Ich habe gelesen, dass…”
Today, Thursday, May 8, 2025, the second session of the workshop titled “I read that... : Cultural Dialogue through Literary Texts. Intercultural Literature in the German Language and Its Teaching as a case study” took place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the German Dialogue Point (DPD).
The workshop was organized by Prof. Fatima Mokadem and Ms. Kheira Dahmani from the research team “Translation and Applied Linguistics”, and was inaugurated by Prof. Ghania Ouahmiche, Director of the “Translation and Methodology” (TRANSMED) laboratory.
This enriching session aimed to explore the vital role of intercultural literature in teaching foreign languages and cultures, focusing on German as a key instance. It gave students in the German program a chance to discover the educational power of literary texts and apply them to enhance both their language and intercultural skills.

Opening “I Read That…” with Insight and Inspiration!
Today’s workshop began with an inspiring speech by Prof. Ghania Ouahmiche, Director of the TRANSMED Laboratory .
She reminded the students and teachers that reading is more than knowledge—it's connection . Whether across cultures, disciplines, or generations, every book we open is a bridge to new perspectives and deeper understanding .
Prof. Ouahmiche also insisted on the fact that the heart of interdisciplinary exchange defines TRANSMED, encouraging students to explore texts not just critically, but creatively .
As the “I Read That…” workshop unfolds, we’re excited for a day of dialogue, discovery, and shared curiosity . Let’s read, reflect, and reimagine—together!
